WHAT IS THE C.A.R.B. EMISSIONS RATING OF PORTABLE MERCURY OUTBOARDS?

The California Air Resources Board (C.A.R.B.) requires manufacturers to apply environmental emission rating labels to all new outboard engines which began with model year 2001. The Emission label keeps consumers informed when making a purchase decision. California emission regulations are stricter than EPA regulations.

All portable Mercury four-stroke outboards sold today meet or exceed all EPA emissions standards and have a CARB 3-Star Ultra Low Emissions rating.
